The combinational model aims to explore the potential of creating a loose special framework by using a basic intercrossing structure. The initial inspiration comes from the wooden tenon structure commonly applied in traditional Asian architecture. The process of exploring its potentials finally leads to forming a grid of intersection that functioned physically like a dome structure, passing down the forces of gravity layers by layers onto the two ends of the entire structure. Woods of different width are tested, which helped us familiarize with the spatial weight of the whole structure. In the end we choose to lighten the structure up using thinner wood by inter twining them in a denser way. Laser cutting was applied to cut the wood, which turned out to make the structure appear loose.
