The structural components of our combinatorial model are a crystallization of the folded system we explored throughout the semester. While the foldable pieces were essential to experimentation, these rigid versions have more structural integrity, allowing us to fully realize our concept’s load-bearing potential.
Based on our selected reciprocal variation, we further clarify the structural logics in the relationship between levels. Edits include moving one piece on the second story to align more closely to the ground floor wall, and rotating the other ninety degrees while activating its second fold. Our playful program reflects this experimental spirit while embracing our system’s sculptural qualities. In this final combinatorial project, it is rewarding to see the many exciting possibilities studied throughout the semester refined and realized in a clearer, more structurally sound assembly.
