Our project intends to combine the idea of regulatory systems and free forms. Inspired by Frei Otto’s project, our project developed a regular mesh created by wood sticks, trying to find a middle ground between free form and regular form. The first system is the mesh that we developed from connecting basic units of squares. We connected wood sticks with rings and created this rigid mesh. We discovered that the square could deform in a way that creates multiple surfaces, generating spatial possibilities.
