MEMBRANE MODEL / EXPERIMENT EIGHT

This project is a two part investigation of 3 different membrane materials and their properties. First, we explore the different limitations and extremities of three material types. Through elasticity, amount of material, and material make-up we determine the base qualities of the different materials. Next, we explore the extent that each material can create a double curve form and analyze the differences between the three, comparing the differences back to the base qualities we previously determined. Finally, the second part of our investigation is seeing how precisely our digital model can replicate the physical conditions of our material experimentations. Worthy of note, due to material limitations of both our testing material and base material, and factoring in human error, we could not produce the maximum tensile position of each material. However, theoretically if the digital model is indeed accurate, we could digitally produce what should have happened.
