To explore the use of membranes as a structure, our group began to explore ideas of creating a shading system that could be added to pre-existing buildings. After looking at potential materials, we wanted to use music wire and mesh fabric to make a modular system. We also started working in Rhino to play with various forms for our system. To be able to help anchor our system, we had to design a more complex base. The base uses a four-level system with the top layer being acrylic and the subsequent ones being wood.
