Drawing inspiration from the form and pattern of our previous project, this model utilized a structural grid system, intricately interwoven with wooden planks and transparent acrylic trusses. Our aim was to translate the spatial intricacies of the crate, infusing it with the architectural language of equilibrium. Central to our process and ultimate structure was the challenge of identifying the breaking point of stability in the face of addition/removal of elements. We found the threshold at which our model, even with the systematic removal of various structural elements, such as the acrylic trusses and wooden beams, would maintain its equilibrium against both vertical and horizontal forces – by discovering ways to act against the removal of force with an addition of force.
